Between August 9 and 11, 1892, Lizzie Borden was questioned at the inquest into the murder of her parents in Fall River, MA. Subsequently she was arrested and tried for the crimes, but she never testified at her trial. Only at the inquest did Lizzie Andrew Borden speak, a testimony that was almost lost to history except that it was read into the record at her preliminary hearing.
Not only is her testimony dramatic and very compelling as a piece of theater, but it reveals some deep insight into why Lizzie was arrested and gives vital information to any investigators still trying to solve the as yet unsolved murders.
The Inquest Testimony is Volume 1 of the Lizzie Borden Audio Archives and stars Kyla Mostello as Lizzie Borden and John Shaken-Kaye as Prosecutor Hosea Knowlton.
Directed by Richard Behrens with Notes by Stefani Koorey
